Too Religious For Black Unity Because of "The White Man's Religion"?

Most Black folks in the Americas don't even know their own history or understand Black sociology but seem to always want to argue about God and religion. The 3 major religions of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all came from dark skinned peoples in the same region of the world. Even Kemetics comes from the same region. Buddhism and Hinduism also come from dark skinned people in Sub Continental Asia. How is it that one of them could be "the white man's religion" or one is "Blacker" than the other? It can't be. White folks didn't give Black folks Christianity. That is one of the biggest lies ever told, and folks promote it because they don't research thoroughly or know their own history. In our misdirected pursuit to reclaim our lost heritage we forfeit and forsake other parts of our heritage because someone else adopted it. Middle East Asia and Africa had the gospel before Europe.

The gospel message of Christianity came through dark skinned Asiatic/African folks in the Middle east as a faith for all mankind. It is so powerful it converted Europeans out of centuries of paganism but was later perverted by Roman Catholicism to make it more acceptable to pagans. Catholicism and its offshoots is what was given to slaves in the Americas, and not true Christianity. We're so lost we believe lies as truth and call truth a lie. It was illegal by law for slaves to learn how to read to prevent them from learning truth, but now instead of thoroughly researching and reading freely we just grab onto anything that sounds "more black", or looks more African, Hebrew, or Asiatic. THAT'S DUMB!

Supremacist ideology turns you on yourself and makes you reject a part of your own true history by adopting other beliefs and modifying them with false doctrine and false history to make it as their own. As a result enslaved Black people subconsciously worship white people and see them as being closer to God so they try to be more like them and are often more accepting of them over other Black people. This crippling "slave god" mentality is passed on to their descendants in various ways. The opposite way is in rejecting anything associated with the slave masters so much so that one will even reject truth or a part of their history and heritage.

White Europeans have a history of stealing gods & religions from those they conquered, and changing them even among their own whether it be the Romans stealing from the Greeks or the Greeks stealing from the Black Egyptians as well as stealing from the earliest Hebrew/Jewish Christians and African/Asian believers. Some Black folks try too hard and unnecessarily go out of their way to not be called a "Christian" just because white believers call themselves that. White folks believe the other religions too, and sing soul & gospel music as well as rap & hip hop but folks don't get all bent out of shape and try to disown those. It is short sighted to disavow anything as false without actually researching it especially when it comes to God. The term "Christian" or "Christianity" was first used in the 1st century A.D. as a slander to single out believers from pagans & Jews. Prior to that it was known as "the way" or the "sect of The Nazarenes".

ACTS 24:5"For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes."  #CHRISTIANITY

ACTS 24:14"But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets."

I can respect anybody's beliefs but I am solid in my faith. Many folks say things openly or post religious based thoughts in various online social groups for encouragement and reflection which I think is fine, but in every "Black" people targeted group you also get those who have another agenda. Most often it is an attack on Christianity for some other doctrine they believe is more "Afrocentric" or Black. When the leaders of the early Church realized the term "Christian" was surprisingly actually an accurate description of them as disciples and true believers of God in Yeshua Messiah they didn't turn away from it. Even in the Holy Scriptures the Apostles of the Lord acknowledged the term as honorable recognizing that their enemies in their ignorance had actually named them right according to what they believed. It was nothing to be ashamed of, and still isn't.

ACTS 11:26"And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."  #CHRISTIANS

1st PETER 4:16"Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."  #CHRISTIAN

Many talk about "Black Unity" but promote the same division that keeps us from unifying by taking sly shots at individual religious beliefs while trying to promote others.
What they don't realize is that their manner of presentation is more divisive than it is unifying and contributes to the reason Black folks can't effectively unify on common ground. I'm a Christian and proud of it. It does not diminish my stance on Black activism and civil rights. My beliefs govern my personal life and gives me guidance on dealing with various challenges in life. When I work with other Black people who are interested in positive input and genuine advancement of our people I understand how to not be so demonstrative in my Christianity that I become offensive and disrupt the unity we need to advance. Even so, I'm keenly aware that the system of White Supremacy that undermines equality and justice for all people is a unified philosophy practiced institutionally regardless of religious persuasions which is why it is so successful.

The Black Community seems to be the only ones who don't get that and always end up inevitably falling back into division between Islam, Hebrew Israelites, Kemetics, Rastafarians, Christians, Atheism, and "The Holy Black Jedi Order" (I made that up) or some other religious belief at the wrong time counter productive to promoting Black Unity. Irrational and stubborn religious "fanaticism" makes us miss the mark on unity and be unbalanced in our faith also.
The inability to work with others and maintain our religious integrity because of zeal without wisdom is an insult and disgrace to whatever faith we claim to believe. Religion can be liberating, unifying, divisive, or oppressive depending on how it is used. Our faith is a sword that divides the sinful from the righteous, truth from lies, and it can also be used to defend and fight for the cause that is right without being overbearing. We are not oppressed or mistreated because of our religion or various beliefs but because of who we are as Black people; which is what we all have in common.

I'm a Bible believing student & teacher who will gladly defend my faith, use scripture to make a universal point for the benefit of all, or even debate and give rebuttals against other divisive false religious doctrines as I have done on occasion. There's a time and place for all things. However, don't talk to me about "Black Unity" in the midst of all the problems we're facing together and at the same time insult my personal faith to promote another agenda because you are unlearned on it, and don't really know as much as you think do. That is hypocrisy and is underhanded in destroying the unity you claim to be trying to promote. My faith in God Almighty comes before my color or ethnicity, and if you make it an issue that hinders our advancement as a people I will speak out against you for the sake of truth, and then we won't have unity of any kind. Choose your battles more wisely instead of needlessly creating them.  ~ I.J. West

  1. To the "hoteps" trying to comment, don't even waste your time. I'm not ever posting any Kemetic philosophy on my blog to your liking nor will allow you to think you can use my pages for that. You all have saturated the internet with that nonsense so find somewhere else to post your links or make your arguments because this blog is not for you to post your information.
