Many so called spiritual leaders today (especially those claiming to be "apostles") greatly embellish and even romanticize the Old Testament in the Holy Bible, and have gotten caught up in things that are not evident patterns throughout scripture. YAH's operation is not the same today as it was back then and if you are still trying to produce things the Spirit has moved on from then you will find yourself stuck where GOD "was" and never be where he "is". Stop inserting yourself into scripture never intended for you. Only Elisha received a "mantle" (a cloak) in a very unique situation from a very special prophet (Elijah) for a specific reason that was not to be duplicated (See 2nd KINGS 2). Do some real study instead of lazily accepting folks spin on it. You may discover you've been "bewitched" into believing a lie.
ACTS 8:9; "But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one".
These preachers are lying and making themselves out to be more than ever they are or can be, and deceiving others into chasing after and serving them for something they can never get. They are lost in their own self infatuation and sucking others in when they can't give you much beyond prayer and advice. Yeshua Messiah is the only one with "all power" so get what you need from him. In 1st Timothy 1:6 Paul laid hands on Timothy to help him receive what the Lord already had for him. Paul was a conduit for the Lord to help Timothy's faith in receiving it but not the source of it. Timothy got gifts from God and not a mantle from Paul. All this "mantle madness" is false teaching and erroneous doctrine I call "church voodoo" born out of superstition and the pride of delusional people that many have blindly accepted.
1st CORINTHIANS 7:20 & 23; "Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. 23) Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men."
Stop chasing someone else's cloak, sweat, robe, or spirit to be like them. Be like Christ; he's the one that died for you and did all the work. Moses didn't leave a mantle to Joshua. Jesus Christ didn't leave a mantle to any of the apostles nor did the apostles leave a mantle for any after them. It was a one time thing for a specific reason not to be duplicated between Elijah & Elisha. We now have the Holy Spirit of God on the inside as our mantle and you don't need to wear another person's clothing, or receive a double portion of their spirit, nor can you have someone else's "anointing". You have what the LORD can trust you with so work that and pray to grow into other areas for God's glory and not your own. It's as the Spirit of the Lord wills and not by the will of man. ~ I.J. West
