Ministers, beware of putting yourself into an area or realm of “exclusivity” where you believe you are the only one or even the first one receiving “revelation” from God that has never been heard before in the earth. When you think or make a statement like that you are basically saying that you have the equivalent of “scripture” that can be included in the Bible itself, and have put yourself on or above the level of all the biblical Prophets and Apostles as well as Christ himself. It is a delusion and the Bible itself contradicts you in 2nd Peter 1:20; “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” You are never the only one in the earth that receives a particular revelation. God will not allow any man in this day and age to be his sole witness because your ego can’t handle that level of trust, and no revelation comes without confirmation which means someone else will know it too besides you. When the prophet Elijah told the Lord himself that he was the only one left of all the prophets or true believers God corrected him by telling him in 1st Kings 19:18, “Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.” There are more people and believers in the world today than there were then so how is it possible that you are the only one hearing a special exclusive message from God? It’s not. You may receive a personal message but it’s not unique in the sense that know one else has a similar or identical experience. Don’t allow a time of prosperity and spiritual highs in your life to deceive you into believing that your relationship with the Almighty has made you more important than what you really are.
The scriptures clearly say in 1st Corinthians 3:11; “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” Again it says in Ephesians 2:20; “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone”. When you began to think and speak in that exclusive revelation mindset you have just laid another foundation and made yourself a “chief cornerstone”. That is having a competing glory with the glory of God and even to say such a thing is a shameless self-promotion brought on by the subtlety of pride which is the very same thing that caused Satan’s fall and subsequent eviction from Heaven. If you are not careful you will end up in the same position as the Devil. Revelation 21:14 says; “And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” The “12 Apostles of the Lamb” (which I personally believes includes Paul) have their names written in the foundations of the heavenly city of New Jerusalem because they represent the foundation of all that we have been given by God in terms of revelation and the establishment of our faith. Neither your name or mine is there because everything we preach and teach or any revelation received is based on what they wrote and must be verified by the same. No man since or currently living has that kind of originality or revelation. Do you really believe that out of the 6-billion people on the earth today and of all the great men and women of the Bible as well as in history before you that no one else has ever heard and received what you are just discovering? These types of errors lead to one becoming weird and spooky, not spiritual. Repent, be humble and lower yourself so God will elevate you in due time; don’t elevate yourself to be brought down. – I.J.
