How Does The Black Community Unite? (The Short Answer)

Whenever I've made statements about the necessity of unity in the Black Community for our advancement and to effectively combat the injustices against us the number one question that gets asked in response is, "HOW do we make this happen?" Often it seems as if I can hear the frustration, anger, and sadness behind the question being asked because I've felt the same way. In spite of all our many great achievements a "unified Black Community" is the one thing we have yet to accomplish, and it is the main thing those who oppose us fear most. Based on my experience it seems impossible, but nonetheless we have to make it happen because our survival depends on it. Until we get together we'll never be able to get it together. Without unity we can't save our community. We cannot face and overcome the regular crushing brutality and injustice against us as a divided people. So, "How do we unite?" Here's my answer to the question (take it or leave it):

"Awakening"???...

WHO ARE YOU Black man/Black woman? Knowing our history equips us with "knowledge of self" to understand who we are by knowing who we've been, to know what we can do by learning what we've done, and to learn where we've come from to see where we can go. In spite of the "knowledge of self" Black People have developed a pattern of devolving into useless phrases or meaningless symbolic actions for which we can no longer afford to engage in. I have no faith in emotional proclamations of a phony "great awakening" or such overused clichés like "wake up brother/sister", when so many saying this are still blindly walking in willful ignorance themselves. "Sleep" is a luxury for those who can afford to rest or dream, and for Black People we've lived the "American Nightmare" wide awake with the teasing bliss of the fictitious "American Dream" reserved for all but us. Repetitive rhetoric said in a provocative way flirts with expectations and tickles the emotions of the oppressed but offers no hope.

Unity or Death!

Whenever a racial incident occurs it has become commonplace now that the two biggest disappointments, at least to me personally besides all the "sellouts" and traitors "cooning" among us in the Black Community, are the spiritual leaders (primarily Christian ministers) and White Christians. They are both used against us to keep us in check or from getting out of line, and from effectively challenging the oppressive system of "White Supremacy" against us in our defense. Other religious leaders of different faiths tend to be more demonstrative and polarizing, but make Christianity the enemy while not offering real comprehensive solutions to solving these issues we are facing short of having a "Race War". Their other offering is often in emotionally galvanizing others to take ill thought out actions to seek revenge which will only lead to a cycle of gang like retaliation that causes more innocent lives lost.

Christianity, Black People, African Fantasy, and Other Random Thoughts

Christianity is not a "western religion". This is an error too many make when trying to find error with it. Every major religion from Christianity, Judaism, Islam, to Buddhism and Hinduism as well as other lesser know religious systems such as Kemetic Science all came from brown & black skinned people in the same region of Northern Africa or Western Asia ("Middle East") so not one of them is "western" or the "white man's religion". Human civilization, and that of Black people in particular goes back further than the Nile Valley region and beyond Egypt. Egypt is a part of our proud heritage, but also far too often the "fantasy bloodline" and phony roots that many try to go back to. Let's just agree on Africa in all its greatness.

Too Religious For Black Unity Because of "The White Man's Religion"?

Most Black folks in the Americas don't even know their own history or understand Black sociology but seem to always want to argue about God and religion. The 3 major religions of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all came from dark skinned peoples in the same region of the world. Even Kemetics comes from the same region. Buddhism and Hinduism also come from dark skinned people in Sub Continental Asia. How is it that one of them could be "the white man's religion" or one is "Blacker" than the other? It can't be. White folks didn't give Black folks Christianity. That is one of the biggest lies ever told, and folks promote it because they don't research thoroughly or know their own history. In our misdirected pursuit to reclaim our lost heritage we forfeit and forsake other parts of our heritage because someone else adopted it. Middle East Asia and Africa had the gospel before Europe.
