Everybody wants to be heard but nobody wants to listen; especially preachers and leaders. We seem to only pay attention when a message comes from someone we think is on our level or above us because we are respecters of person. We want everyone to respect us or apologize to us when they're wrong, but we don't respect hardly anybody and almost never apologize to those we hurt and wrong. We demand obedience and quote scriptures out of context by teaching fear of men instead of faith in God. We try to keep followers in check by misusing such scriptures as "touch not my anointed", "double honor", reminding folks of stories such as "she bears mauling the disrespectful", and not to mention the "I'm your man/woman of God" statements we hurl at folks. We compare ourselves to biblical figures in our ungodly pride, subterfuge, and delusion saying things like we have the authority of Moses but unable to match the "meekness" of Moses. When I see and hear certain leaders I see and hear so much of them I can't see or hear any of Christ in them. A truly humble person never has to talk about how humble they are; they just are. Are not the people also God's anointed? Are we not suppose to also honor one another, reject strife with vainglory, and esteem others as better than ourselves?
PHILIPPIANS 2:3; "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves."
Do you approach the LORD with your title or your name? Can anybody call you by your name and you not take offence or feel slighted? Which is greater, your name or your title? Is GOD or even Satan suppose to be impressed with you like you try to make the people? Did you know there is no preaching in Heaven, but only worship and fellowship? We leaders are also Yeshua's sheep given a responsibility among the flock of God and have not been given our positions to rule over them as kings and lords, or treat them as our subjects as if they are beneath us. We are all equals in YAH's eyes and your title denotes your level of service and responsibility first and foremost before you try to declare your authority and privilege. Yeshua called the disciples "friends" and was close to them; while in contrast we treat the people of YAH like fans and personal servants of whom we must keep a safe distance from lest they taint our anointing. The people are to be sowed into also and are not there for us to just reap from. We better be careful how we handle those who Christ also died for. He came for more than just you "apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher", and he can return for them and leave you. We've got to do better. Shalom. ~ I.J. West
MATTHEW 24:45-51; "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46) Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47) Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48) But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49) And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50) The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51) And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
